Though golf can be a frustrating game when it’s is not going your way, the consolation is that it gets you out and exercising in idyllic settings. It is also a great inter-generational sport. With so many country clubs around Pittsburgh there’s bound to be one right near you.
Swimming
Swimming is a great bonding experience. It doesn’t get any better than cooling off in a local pool. If lakes are more your style, you don’t have to venture too far to find one.
Biking

Boating
Plan a boating trip on one of the Gateway Clipper fleet boats or make it an educational experience on Riverquest.
Visit an Amusement Park

Enjoy a Free Concert
The city and county offer free concerts at various sites throughout the summer. In addition, many of the festivals in town have live musical entertainment.
Cinema in the park
All summer long free movies are played at various parks in the Pittsburgh area.
Geocaching
An outing that combines fun as well as skill is a winning combination. You will also get some exercise while tracking down treasure.
Cook Out
Since caveman days, people have been cooking meals over a fire. Dining al fresco on grilled food is quintessential summer living at its best. It’s a great family activity or a good time to have friends over for some fun.
Fireworks
Grab a blanket and stretch out on the cool grass to take in some beautiful fireworks lighting up the summertime sky.
Ride an Incline
A little bit of history, a little bit of thrill ride, a lot of spectacular view, our inclines are indisputably Pittsburgh. Every family should take a ride the Duquesne Incline and the Monongahela Incline at least once during their lifetime.
The Point
Make a trip to watch our famous fountain, play frisbee in the park, take a walk or visit the Fort Pitt Museum near by.
